About

Welcome to Red Rider Resort. When my wife and I bought this property we intended to use if for our own family getaway. After using the property we absolutely fell in love with it and decided it would be a great idea to share the property with anyone who loves Cuyuna, clean water, lots of trees, and an abundance of nature. We did not want to destroy the beauty of the property by taking out all the beautiful trees so you will find it may not be easy to fit more than 1 vehicle at most of the cabins. We are located on the far east side of the Cuyuna Recreation trails on Manuel Mine Pit. The trails are easy to access by taking a short ride down our access trail to connect to the Cuyuna Recreational trails. With future expansion of the trails you will have approximately another 28 miles of beautiful trails to ride.. Also In the winter these trails are groomed for fat tire bikes and also are great for snowshoeing. Our resort is situated on a 35′ bluff to the water offering amazing views of the lake. To access the lake from the resort we have a stairway (and benches if you want to rest and enjoy the view) down to the 6×25 dock. There is a DNR access located on the other side of the pit, which has a gradual slope to the lake. Please keep in mind that Manuel Mine Pit is a non-motorized pit which means it is only a carry on pit. This makes it a great place to relax, swim, paddle board, or Kayak. It is VERY important to know that this mine pit is VERY DEEP. We have found depths of up to 161 feet; so it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that life jackets be worn by all people at all times when near the water. The DNR access, as mentioned earlier, is a public access that has a more gradual decline into the water and is a great place for kids to swim. Manuel Mine Pit is stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout and we will be offering winter guided trips. In the summer You can enjoy Kayaking and Paddle Boarding. There is also the option of fishing off our 25’ dock (REMEMBER: You WILL need a trout stamp to fish this pit). All cabins come with a fire ring that has a grate over it for cooking, park style charcoal grill, picnic table, mini refrigerators, and 4 folding chairs for use around the campfire. Firewood can be purchased at time of booking or at the campground. We ask that you do not bring any firewood into the campground that is not DNR approved and do not cut down any of the trees on the property. There is a maximum of 4 people per cabin (We understand if you have 3 or 4 children so please call or email prior to making a reservation to inquire about options). We ask that you DO NOT smoke in any of the cabins and please do not discard cigarette butts on the ground. Dogs must be on a leash at all times and must be in a kennel if left in the cabin alone. Please, Please pick up after you pets so we do not have to change any of our policies that will exclude your furry family members. Thank You and please enjoy all that Red Rider Resort has to offer.
