About
As a freelance writer and photographer, Steven Lawrence Olson is credited with feature articles, news stories, photos, guest columns and opinions, published over many years in the (former) Pinnacle News of San Benito County, the Star Tribune, the Pine and Lakes Echo Journal, the Brainerd Dispatch and others.
A frequent Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico Provincial Park adventurer since his high school days with buddies, partners and by going solo, Steven has portaged-in, paddled-in, flown-in by seaplane and portaged-paddled-out over the years.
As a career medical products and device engineer for 30+ years, Olson designed, developed and led R&D oversight of US and international human clinical trials and studies for new products and devices. A medical industry consultant for several years, he holds a BS degree in Physics and is co-inventor of numerous US and foreign patents.
A guitarist, saxophonist, singer, and no-hit-wonder songwriter in working rock groups from college days through the 80’s, Steven continues as an aficionado and composer of tunes, lyrics and prose.
