COMMUNITY SERVING ACTION PEQUOT LAKES THE Beth Community Action of Pequot Lakes Features Member Medeiros - Commander Ben Krueger American Legion Post 49 In May when Beth Medeiros assumed the role of Legion Commander at Pequot's Ben Krueger American Legion Post 49, she had retired from 21 years of active duty in the Air Force, following that with 14 years as a civilian also working for the Air Force. As Commander, she oversees the three groups within the Legion: The Legion itself, Sons of the American Legion, and the Auxiliary. To top everything off, this is the 100th Anniversary of the Ben Krueger unit with a day's worth of activities planned for this Saturday, June 17. The full day of events kicks off at 11 a.m. with an Official Flag Retirement Ceremony. At noon, there will be a presentation of Quilts of Honor to 5 veterans made by the local "Happy Scrappers." From 1-4 p.m. there will be Bar Bingo, a Corn Hole Tournament, Minnow Races and a Perpetual Meat Raffle. As always at the Legion, bratburgers will be served by the Sons of the American Legion from 11 a.m. until they are gone. By all means, put this event on your schedule and greet Beth Medeiros, a CAPL member who is truly involved in our community.
