COMMUNITY ACTION Community Action PEQUOT LAKES SERVING THE COMMUNITY of Pequot Lakes features member Sharon Higgins from Pequot Lakes American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary Thirty-three years ago, Sharon Higgins joined the Pequot Lakes American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary. Over the years, she has held almost every local office available, plus a district-wide leadership role. In 2003, she became Gambling Manager for the organization where the role has now grown to oversee five sites covering bingo, electronic pull tabs, regular pull tabs, meat raffles, and all types of special raffles. Earlier, Sharon lived all over the country and world as BING GONE TO BINGO WILL NOT BE HOME B-4 DARK a military wife before settling in the lakes area in 1979 where she worked for Whitebirch for 14 years before retiring. Needless to say, that retirement didn't last as her current role as Gambling Manager is basically full-time. It is important to know that the Auxiliary donates almost 50% of any income raised to our community and veteran's projects. CAPL is so very pleased to have Sharon as a member... especially as she's the one who oversees CAPL's Meat Raffle at Barajas every Friday evening starting at 5:30 p.m. Join us for a fun time!
